Once the new channel was established, Sam Turnbull moved on to become the Marketing Director for mass-market tour operating brand First Choice Holidays. In additions, the retail businesses (Bakers Dolphin, Holiday Hypermarket, Travel Choice, First Choice Travel Agencies). At the time these businesses were turning over around £1 billion. One of the highlights was that Sam ran the highly successful TV sponsorship of “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here…” resulting in the organisation’s highest ever market share in the critical January/February booking period. Sam then moved onto a Marketing Director role for the company’s specialist businesses which included brands like Sunsail, Exodus, Crown Blue Line and Trek America. The main focus being on online customer acquisition performance.
