What Are Exit Interviews?

An Exit Interview is a method of collecting feedback from a customer after departing a specified location, event or after an experience. Their main goal is to collectively accumulate and generate thoughts and opinions on a topic, such as an experience they have just had in the location they have just visited.

The interviews are typically done in person but be conducted by telephone or digitally. They tend to combine a mix of both closed and open-ended questions to allow true issues to emerge.

Why do Exit Interviews Work?

It is about developing knowledge. Using researchers trained to produce insights that can drive success within businesses. Companies can take the results and analytics from research companies like Vision One to understand why consumers stay or leave, what catches their minds or how they feel overall to drive the correct level of change in a brand.

The interview can take place from a Face-To-Face conversation, a questionnaire on a tablet, a survey afterwards or a combination of all.
