Our Teams Charity Climb Up Snowdon Vision One

Climbing up Snowdon for Marie Curie As part of our new approach to ‘Giving Back‘ introduced earlier this year, the intrepid Vision One team are giving up their time to embark on a trek up Snowdon this autumn in aid of Marie Curie. About the walk We had planned to take on the fundraiser for Marie Curie in 2020, but unfortunately, due to the Covid19 lockdown, we have had to delay our charity event and we have now rescheduled our walk for Thursday, September 9th, now that restrictions for groups of more than six people being together have been lifted. Many charities are suffering these days, and whilst Marie Curie Nurses are supporting families across the UK, we’ll be lacing up our walking boots, trekking 3,560ft to the summit of Wales’ highest peak to help fundraise for this incredible charity. Where the money goes… £180 pays for someone with a terminal illness to attend the day therapy at the hospice £400 pays for someone to stay in a Marie Curie Hospice for 24 hours so that they can receive the hands-on care they need in their final days. £1,250 pays for a portable oxygen system that will relieve distressing symptoms, so…

With everything that’s happening this year and the fact that we’re all busy working at home, we decided to do our Christmas Party a little differently this year.  We’re taking our team adventure online, and have planned a night of fun whilst raising money for Macmillan with their wonderful new fundraiser, a Whodunnit Murder Mystery! What is Whodunnit? Whodunnit is a virtual murder mystery game. Everyone is assigned a character for the evening while we each gather evidence and try to unravel the clues and unmask the murderer.  This is a very exciting prospect for the Vision One team – it’s what we love doing. All our research is focused on understanding people, cultures and delving into people’s lives, so we’re quietly confident we’ll be able to identify the culprit (or culprits, should we say?). The event is based on a cruise ship and has a very well-written script, along with clues for you to ask your friends or colleagues in order to piece together who killed Dr McDogood. With suggestions for a fancy dress, we believe the Murder Mystery night will be a great way to have a laugh and a few drinks with people whilst remaining safe at home, whilst…

Jas and Tony's 24 Peaks in 24 hours challenge

Charity Challenge and Tony’s 24 Peaks in 24 hours challenge! Always keen to do a little something for charity, Vision One directors Jas Gidda and Tony Lewis go outside their comfort zone to take on a new challenge this summer – climbing 24 Peaks in 24 hours The demanding two-day event will involve 50 km of hill walking, climbing England’s highest mountain, and conquering 24 of the most challenging peaks in the beautiful Lake District National Park (Cumbria). The challenge includes summiting renowned peaks such as Scafell Pike, Helvellyn, and Great Gable. The climb starts on the 24th June and is being done in aid of several charities, including Cancer Research, The Royal British Legion and the Unique Home. The 24 Peaks in 24 hours challenge follows a well-known itinerary, which is broadly as follows. Day 1 – Bowfell to Green Gable. We hope to conquer the 9 peaks of our challenge with a total trekking distance of approximately 28km, which will probably take 13 hours or more! Todays peaks include: Day 2 – Red Screes to Great Dodd. Liverpool Cathedral Sleepout Vision One

Liverpool Cathedral Sleepout Vision One’s Shane and Rosie Palmer are very excited to be part of a challenge to raise money to support the spectacular Liverpool Cathedral and the Whitechapel Centre who supports the homeless. Along with their son, the Palmer family will be taking cardboard boxes, sleeping bags and games to make a den to sleep in overnight inside one of Liverpool’s most famous landmarks.  Clearly excited at the prospect, they say; “We think this is an amazing opportunity to have a unique experience in the Liverpool Cathedral, make a den that will probably fall down, not get much sleep, but mostly so we raise money to keep the Cathedral running and support the homeless in Liverpool” Please support the Palmers on this adventure and donate what you can to this worthy cause via their Virgin Money Giving page – CLICK HERE.
